Test yourself whether your products or services are really needed in three broad concepts (but there are always outliers or maybe the signals to new industries that do not fit in any of these)

  1. RED OCEAN? Maybe you are offering the same things that the market has and is already very crowded; you end up competing in prices only

  2. BLUE OCEAN? To what degree are you on Blue Ocean? Are you VERY blue or a LITTLE blue? Either you need to rejig to unlock the value to sell to your customers

  3. Or are you in Complete Shift (Kodak vs Digital, and Blockbuster vs Netflix)? This is where the products or services are new and require a new design of distribution and marketing strategies, and educate to your new users/ clients. This is the riskiest and most expensive
